I have several hats: dentist, photographer, webmaster, husband, father, son, brother, uncle…

So why does a dentist have a photography website? Where does this love come from?

It all began in 2004, when I founded an online store, PanamArts, to sell Panamanian arts and crafts. And of course one of the required skills to sell anything online is product photography, so I set up to learn how to do it.

Some time later a cousin of mine told me aboout this friend that made some money “selling golden frog photos”. I investigated more on this line and entered the world of stock photography. Nowadays, several agencies represent my work, among them Alamy in London, TIPS in Milan and Travel Images in Lisboa.

After that I was called to teach a course on dental photography at ULACIT, a renowned University here in Panama. That was about 2008 if I recall correctly. And to this day, I keep teaching it. I love teaching… living thru that particular moment when a strange world is suddenly understood by the student. A moment where everything “clicks” and the student gets the concept. No one can teach anything to anybody. Each has to learn by him or herself. We, as teachers just guide the student.

My goal here is to maintain this site as a showcase for my work, maybe with some photoblogging (maybe) and as a platform to write articles related to dental photography and photography in general.
